Travel grants can be submitted only during the months of February and March.
Starting February 1, 2017 please follow the outlined procedure below:
Our travel grants only cover part of the cost of travel to the conference and successful applicants should still expect to incur some travel costs. Grant recipients are expected to attend all 3 days of the conference.
The number of CEA travel grants awarded, as well as the amounts awarded, will depend upon the funds available and the number of applicants. All else being equal, priority for funding will be given to (a) PhD students, (b) those who cannot easily get to the conference by ground transport (car, bus or train), and (c) those who have not received travel grants from the CEA in the past. The amount awarded to each successful applicant will also depend upon the estimated cost of travelling to the conference location. For example, a student travelling from Calgary to Vancouver will receive less than a student travelling from Halifax to Vancouver.
Please note that if you are also applying for a travel grant with one of the CEA’s study groups (ie: CWEN, CLEF, CDESG etc.) and end up being eligible for both travel grants you will be offered collaborative grant amount based on a joint assessment by the study group and the CEA.
