Visa Category and the Short-term Labour Market Outcomes of Immigrants in Canada |
| Abstract |
Immigrants admitted under different visa categories have different characteristics in terms of schooling, age, language ability and source country distribution. This paper analyzes the extent of differences in the short-term labour market outcomes of immigrants by visa category and how these differences relate to the immigrant characteristics. The first two waves of the Longitudinal Survey of Immigrants to Canada are used and results are reported for male and females immigrants separately. |
