Grand Hotel Toronto

Canadian Economics Employment Exchange (CEEE) will be on Friday, December 7 and Saturday, December 8 at the Grand Hotel Toronto at 225 Jarvis Street, Toronto, Ontario (grandhoteltoronto.com). The purpose of the CEEE is to facilitate the search of Canadian PhD candidates who are seeking employment and of the Canadian organizations who may be interested in hiring these candidates.

The CEEE meetings will begin on Friday, December 7, with interviews taking place approximately between 9:00am and 6:00 pm. On Saturday, December 8, the interviews will continue from 9:00am to 1:00pm with possible extensions to 5:00pm. A cocktail reception will occur on the Friday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 pm.

INFORMATION DESK AND HOSPITALITY ROOM

There will be an information desk and hospitality room, open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on December 7th and 9:00am to 3:00 pm on December 8th. Employers are requested to check-in at this location. The information desk is where and where students can obtain employer interview room information. Light beverages and snacks will be provided in the hospitality room. The specific room number will be communicated closer to the date.

RECEPTION

On Friday evening from 6pm to 7:30pm, there will be a cocktail reception at the Grand Hotel (the same location as the CEEE 2018 meetings) sponsored by the Bank of Canada . All CEEE participants are welcomed to attend. PLEASE make sure to drop by the information desk to pick up your name tag and ticket for the event.

REGISTRATION & FEES

FOR CANDIDATES

Student candidates are encouraged to fill out the CEEE Candidate Form to indicate your attendance to CEEE organizers.  *There is no charge for candidates* If you require hotel accommodations, please refer to the Hotel Accomodation document with booking information and group rates.

FOR EMPLOYERS

For employers, there is a two step process for registration:

1.) Please see the Hotel information Sheet with group rates and booking details for interview suits as well as accommodations. Interview rooms are to be booked with the hotel directly. If you experience any difficulties booking the group rate, please contact Dorinne Ah-Kam at dahkam@videotron.ca

2) Register for the event with the CEA: A fee of $169.50 per employer ($150 plus 13% HST[ON]) is required to cover the costs of operating the exchange. Please make your credit card payment using our online payment system. Employers (typically represented by the department chair) should log in to their account on my.economics.ca, click on "Make Payment", and select the CEEE 2018 registration fee.

If you are paying online, please send an email to the CEA office (cea.execdir@gmail.com) with "CEEE 2018" in the subject line to indicate whose name is on the credit card that you have used and for which organization you are recruiting. Contact cea.execdir@gmail.com for any questions.
